Coming Home"HO HO HO!"
Overjoyed children cried out and jumped up and down with their fingers still interlocked with their impatient parents. The adults standing in line and waiting to move on with their Christmas shopping released heavy sighs of relief when the jolly red man took his seat on the large, elaborate chair fit for a king. With a deep chuckle, Santa waved to all the children who leaped at his arrival and beckoned the first child to come forth. A small girl no more than five shuffled her feet towards him with an uncertain glance back at her father, who urged her with a broad smile to continue moving forward. A lanky woman dressed as one of Santa's "helpers" picked the child up and placed her on Santa's lap, and with another "ho ho ho", Santa asked, "So what is your name, little girl?"
The child stared down at her pink, plump hands with a timid smile. "Sarah " she answered softly.
"Oh? Is that so?" Santa chortled with a light pat on Sarah's back. "So what do you want ol' Saint Nick
Time and Space ConvergeParadox licked the dripping ice cream from her claw tips in delight. This is so much better than time traveling, she thought to herself as she reached to get a scoop of the cookie dough flavored ice cream. She made herself invisible to the teens working at the shop, who constantly passed her by as she stole from right under their noses.
The relief the time traveler felt was something she couldn't recall feeling before. It was her first day after quitting her duty as the supervisor of time's continuity, and never before had she felt so free. Paradox didn't even care if her actions were disrupting history in some way she had shattered her chains. And what better way to celebrate than to abuse her powers to steal every flavor of ice cream she could get her paws into?
